We can not stress how important a good fully comprehensive healthcare and medical insurance policy is for any backing holiday no matter which country you visit.

Accidents do happen and your risk of becoming ill while backpacking is much higher than back home.

We have heard so many horrified stories from other backpackers who got seriously ill or who were in an accident that suffered tremendous additional pain and discomfort as a result of not having adequate medical insurance that we now regard good health care insurance more important than decent walking shoes.

Just as important to being properly insured against any medical emergency is choosing the best insurer. Rather pay a little more than find yourself with inadequate cover or be surprised by broad exclusions that may result in you not being able to enjoy the benefits you thought you had paid for.
